Pirate track wins overall Tiger Relays title

The Greensburg track and field teams traveled to Lawrenceburg to compete against Lawrenceburg, Franklin County, Switzerland County, Rising Sun, and South Ripley in the Tiger Relays Tuesday night. The Lady Pirates brought home the trophy hardware as the girls meet champions, and the Overall Team Trophy was awarded to the Greensburg boys and girls track teams.

Official overall team scores are as follows:

1. Greensburg 105; 2. Switzerland County 100; 3. Lawrenceburg 65; 4. Rising Sun 58; 5. Franklin County 57; 6. South Ripley 53.

The Lady Pirates scored in all 13 events entered, capturing six Blue ribbons and four runner-up places during the meet.

Girls Team Scores:

1. Greensburg 68; 2. Switzerland County 57; 3. Franklin County 36.5; 4. Rising Sun 23; 5. South Ripley 18.5; 6. Lawrenceburg 16.5.

The Greensburg track and field teams traveled to Connersville Thursday night for dual meet against a conference rival.

The Spartans beat the Greensburg girls 79-53, while the Spartans beat the Pirate boys 104-28.

The girls track team performed very well against one of the top EIAC track teams, according to coach Katina Tekulve, and had several highlights throughout the evening.
