The Greensburg girls varsity tennis team raised its season record above the even mark Tuesday, defeating Lawrenceburg while the Lady Pirates celebrated Senior Night.
Greensburg honored seniors Claire Welage and Torrie Brogan before the conference match. Welage is a four-year starter, while Brogan is playing her first year of varsity tennis.
The Lady Pirates defeated the Lady Tigers 5-0.
Junior Danielle Schroeder at first singles topped Sydney Romines 6-1, 6-0.
Junior Olivia Slusher at second singles beat Maddie McMillen 6-0, 6-1.
At third singles, junior Tiffany Springmeyer blanked Kerri Collins 6-0, 6-0.
Welage teamed with junior Caroline Pratt at first doubles for a 6-0, 6-3 win over Kelly Gessner and Cheyenne Younger.
Junior Courtney Nelson and sophomore Abby Bailey topped Abbie Hornberger and Kaylie Martin 6-4, 6-3 at second doubles.
In junior varsity action, the Pirates swept the Tigers at all three spots. Sophomores Kelly Meyer and Martina Kramer each won their singles matches. Junior Sydney Reynolds and sophomore Mackenzie Kovacich were victorious in doubles.
The Lady Pirates host Jennings County tonight.
