Greensburg — The Greensburg boys basketball team beat East Central 54-38 Friday to clinch the outright Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference championship.
The Pirates finish the regular season with a 21-1 record and 7-0 in the EIAC.
Greensburg led 15-6 after the first quarter and carried a 31-17 lead into halftime. The Trojans (9-13 overall, 4-3 in EIAC) outscored the visitors 11-9 in the third quarter, but the Pirates widened the game margin with a 14-10 edge in the fourth.
Senior Sean Sellers led the Pirates with 17 points. Sellers shot 3-for-3 from the foul line and added five rebounds. Junior Ryan Welage followed 14 points, while senior Bryant McIntosh scored 12. Senior Macy Holdsworth added seven and senior Tom Lawrence chipped in two.
Greensburg shot 12-for-14 from the foul line.
The Greensburg JV team defeated East Central 49-36 to clinch an EIAC title and finish 18-1.
Drew Foster and Peyton Buening each scored 11 points. Chandler Deaton scored 9 and Kevin Beaver added 6.
