Charger, Cougar junior high girls renew rivalry

Greensburg — The North Decatur and South Decatur junior high girls basketball teams met at South to renew their rivalry last Thursday.

The North eighth graders improved to 5-3 with a 40-11 win. Sarah Bowman led North with 18 points. Rhegan Day and Kiara Nobbe added six points each. Howell added four and Lily Meyer, Zoe Peters, and Dougherty each added two.

Madison Green led South with four points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist. Claire Wullenweber followed with three points and four rebounds. Taylor Best added two points and two steals, while Brooke Owens chipped in two points and four rebounds.

The seventh grade Lady Chargers beat the Lady Cougars 26-19.

Kinker had eight points, followed by Day with six, Morrow four, Becker four, Osting two, and Bekak Netherton with two.

The North seventh graders are now 4-4 heading into their last week.

Karah Biddinger led South with 9 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists.
