Pirate junior high linksters beat Spartans

— The Greensburg junior high boys golf team traveled to Willowbrook Golf Course to face off against Connersville. The Pirates got their first victory of the season by defeating Connersville by a score of 190 - 203. Leading the way for the pirates was Colton Williams with a 45. Other top scores include Kole McGinn with a 47, Trevor Stapp with a 48, and Josh Ankney with a 50.

Other scores for the boys include Kyle Sellers with a 51, Nathan Emsweller and Brentt Bowling each with 52’s, Anthony Treash with a 55, Gavin Keppel with a 56, and Miles Messer with a 59.

The Pirate linksters opened their season at Shadowwood Golf Course in a match against Immanuel Lutheran and Jennings County. It was a very close match as Immanuel Lutheran won with a team score of 190, followed by Jennings County with a 198 and Greensburg with a 199.

Meet medalist was Kole McGinn of Greensburg with a 9-hole score of 42. Other top scores for the Pirates include Trevor Stapp with a 44, Gavin Keppel with a 56 and Brentt Bowling with a 57.

Greensburg traveled to Columbus to face off against Northside Middle School of Columbus and Madison Junior High School at Otter Creek Golf Course. Madison was victorious with a team score of 179. Northside finished second with a team score of 184 followed by Greensburg with a 211.

Leading the way for the Pirates was Kyle Sellers with a 51. Other scores for the Pirates include Josh Ankney and Colton Williams each with a 53, Trevor Stapp and Kole McGinn each with a 54, and Anthony Treash with a 61.

In the B-flight match, Greensburg traveled to Rocky Ford Par 3. Leading the way for the Pirates was Nathan Emsweller with a 40. Other scores include Miles Messer with a 44, Brentt Bowling and Gavin Keppel each with a 45, Kamron Sims with a 49 and Chance Patterson with a 53.
