Pirate baseball honors seven seniors

Greensburg — The Greensburg varsity baseball team honored the program’s seven seniors Tuesday before a home game against conference rival Franklin County. The Pirates honored Luke Kane, Elliott Green, Riley Billieu, Tyler Burcham, Jack Eberhardt, Austin Schultz and Kyle Moeller.

The Pirates fell to the Wildcats 13-7 in a game that Greensburg had led 6-4 early.

Greensburg is now 14-5 overall, with three conference losses.

Tyler Burcham went 2-for-4 with a team-high two runs batted in. Luke Kane, Collin Rigney and Riley Billieu each went 2-for-4, while Billieu and Kane hit a double apiece. Macy Holdsworth went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Also driving in a run were Kyle Moeller and Josiah Buell.

Burcham struck out nine batters and walked just one, while Tom Lawrence pitched three innings and struck out two batters.

The Wildcats tallied 15 hits and three home runs off Pirate pitching, while walked just three batters. Greensburg committed three errors.
