The South Decatur softball team pounded out 21 hits in a 22-3 win over visiting Waldron Monday. The makeup game lasted five innings. The Lady Cougars had scored just three runs against North Decatur less than a week ago.
“We were patient,” said South Decatur head coach Lisa Huff. “We hit the ball well tonight. We finally put all the bats together.”
Junior Lizzie Hedger gave up three hits, struck out three batters and walked two.
“Lizzie pitched pretty well,” said Huff.
Hitting for South: senior RayAnn Noble 4-for-4 RBI double, solo home run; Brittany Koors 4-for-5, RBI; Julia Miller 4-for-5, RBI, double; Ashley Johannigman 3-for-4, home run, two RBI.
“It feels good to get a win,” said Huff.
