— The Greensburg varsity boys golf team posted one of its best regular-season performances of head coach Bryce Mize’s two seasons at Greensburg. The Pirates defeated Franklin County 163-187 Tuesday at Brook Hill Golf Course.

“It was solid play all around for us tonight,” said Mize.

Although Dylan Huber of Franklin County led all golfers with a two-over par 38, seven Pirate linksters shot in the 40’s and five carded a score below 45. Keegan McCullough shot a team-best 40, but Sam Marsh, Tyler Reiger, and Reid Domingo all followed right behind him with a 41. Maverick Jones fired a 42. Rounding out the scoring were Brandon Butz (45), Kyle Colson (49), Jake Hellmich (50), Corey Dennett (56) and Bill Neumeier (58).

“With a score like this on an away course with a young team - I just couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Mize. “It definitely gives us a much-needed boost of confidence heading into the conference meet this Saturday at Grand Oak. We appear to making our way to mid-season form.”
