The Greensburg varsity basketball team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 96-38 road win over host Hauser Monday night.
Just two nights after beating seventh-ranked Batesville by single digits, the Pirates hit the road again and scored 90 points for the third time in four games.
The Pirates enjoyed a season-high in scoring on the strength of five players in double figures.
Greensburg led 54-16 at halftime and 86-32 after three quarters.
The Jets fell to 3-2.
Head coach Stacy Meyer’s squad was led by senior Sean Sellers with 26 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Sellers, who leads the county in scoring, added a game-high 10 rebounds. Senior Collin Rigney followed with 15 points (3 treys). Junior Ryan Welage scored 15 and senior Bryant McIntosh added 14. Senior Tom Lawrence added a career-high 10 points. Senior Macy Holdsworth scored six points to round out the scoring.
Leading the Jets in scoring was Trey Shipley with 11 points. Sophomore Zach Johnson, a former North Decatur guard, scored four points, while Rory Thayer scored three.
The Pirate JV team also won, 48-35, improving to 4-0 on the season with a balanced attack. A pair of Pirates led the team in scoring. Sophomores Drew Foster and Chandler Deaton led the Pirates with 11 points. Junior Kevin Beaver and sophomore Peyton Buening each scored six, as did sophomore Keegan McCullough. Sophomores Spencer Burkert and Jaden Smith each chipped in two.
