Charger linksters win 17th on Senior Night

Greensburg — The North Decatur boys golf team celebrated Senior Night Tuesday with a 10-stroke win over Jac-Cen-Del. The Chargers beat the Eagles 161-171 on the Meadow Nine Par 36 at North Branch Golf Course.

North honored seniors Charlie Murray, Thomas Shobe and Nick Stewart.

Shobe was the meet medalist with a 37.

“On senior night, our three senior golfers all figured into the varsity score tally,” said North head coach Dan Borns. “Thomas, Charlie, and Nick have been a big reason why our team has been so successful over the past couple of years, and they deserve to be recognized. We are looking forward to sectional play next Friday where we hope to continue our season.”

Freshman Dayne Lecher followed with a 38, while Murray carded a 42. Stewart scored a 44.

The Chargers conclude the regular season with a 17-5 record and enter sectionals with 15 straight wins.
