Lady Chargers receive season awards

Greensburg — The North Decatur softball program gathered in the high school cafeteria Wednesday to distribute season awards. Following a grillout and desserts, members of the junior varsity and varsity teams were recognized, along with All-Conference selections.

On the JV level, Kerrigan Wesseler was named most improved and Blair Kramer was awarded mental attitude.

Letter winners first were awarded.

First-year:  Blair Kramer, Morgan McKinney, Kiley Stier, Mary Hughes, Morgan Nobbe and Madelyn Ryle.

Third-year:  Alison Wallpe, Anna Wallpe and Myra Steele.

Fourth-year:  Kyra Spears, Lindsay Nobbe.

Junior Alison Wallpe was awarded highest batting average (.458). Junior Anna Wallpe was awarded the gold glove award (.967), with a minimum 60 chances in the field.

Named the Most Improved was Anna Wallpe, and senior Kyra Spears was awarded Mental Attitude.

Junior Myra Steele was awarded the Most Valuable Player.

The Chargers’ finish in the Mid-Hoosier Conference standings earned them two All-MHC selections, who were Lindsay Nobbe and Myra Steele.
