The Greensburg boys varsity golf team fell to Batesville Monday 161-166 at Greensburg Country Club.
Medalist for the match was Dominique Schildnicht of Batesville with a 1-over 36. The Pirates were led by Sam Marsh with a 38.
Other Greensburg scores were Reid Domingo (40), Maverick Jones (43), Cody Bausback (45), Tyler Reiger (46), and Keegan McCullough (47).
“Marsh and Domingo played really well tonight,” said Greensburg coach Bryce Mize. “I was especially proud of Domingo as it was his best score of the season by six shots. We can be a dangerous team if we all get things going on the same night - and so far, that’s been the problem. Schildnicht and Geisting of Batesville just played extremely well tonight, making the Bulldogs tough to beat.”
In the JV match, Greensburg was victorious 199-209. Brandon Butz led the Pirates in scoring with a 46. Other scores were Michael Blankman (47), Bill Neumeier (52), Corey Dennett (54), and Jake Hellmich (59).
“It was nice to see all of our guys get a chance to play tonight,” said Mize. “These JV guys have been patiently waiting, and they got their chance today.”
This brings Greensburg’s JV record to 1-1 on the year.
