GB boys at Franklin County Jan. 31

The Greensburg boys basketball games at Franklin County (postponed Jan. 21) are rescheduled for Friday, Jan. 31. The JV is at 6 p.m.

GB 9th girls postponed

The Greensburg girls ninth grade basketball EIAC is postponed from today (Saturday) to Monday at 7:15 p.m. at East Central.

North 7th boys now 11-1

The North Decatur seventh grade boys basketball team improved to 11-1 with a 55-30 home win over Hauser Wednesday.

North led 10-8 after the first quarter, and outscored Hauser 18-5 in the second period to lead 28-13 at halftime.

The Chargers increased the margin with a 17-5 third-quarter edge to remove all doubt of the outcome.

Garrett Metz led all scorers with 26 points, nearly outscoring the Jets by himself. Tyler Walterman scored 12 points, while Cameron Adams followed with six. Braden Blauvelt scored five, Ethan Herbert added four and Justin Allgeier chipped in two.

North next competes in the Mid-Hoosier Conference tournament Thursday night. The Chargers are slated to host Knightstown at 6 p.m.

North boys at Edinburgh Monday

The North Decatur boys varsity/JV games against host Edinburgh Tuesday are now being played Monday, Jan. 27. The games had been postponed because of winter weather. They were originally postponed Saturday, Dec. 14 because of weather.

South boys host Morristown Tuesday

The South Decatur boys basketball games Friday night against Morristown were called off because of the winter weather. The games have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28 at South Decatur.

Open swim offered on Sundays

The Decatur County Parks and Recreation Department is offering open swimming at the Greensburg Community High School.

The pool will be open, free of charge, on Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. beginning on Sunday, Feb. 9 and continuing through Sunday, March 16.

Non-swimmers under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
