North boys vs host S. Ripley, 6 p.m.
South boys vs Shawe Memorial at South, 7:30
Gburg boys vs Batesville at GB, 7:30
South JH girls fall to Triton Central
The South Decatur junior high girls basketball teams were swept by Triton Central in their most recent action.
The seventh graders fell 34-14.
South’s leading scorer was Claire Wullenweber with 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. Samantha Barcus had 3 points and 4 rebounds, Taylor Best had 2 points and 1 steal, Kayla Carder had 2 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals, and Brooke Owens had 2 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal.
The eighth graders fell 49-28.
South’s leading scorer was Brooke Helms with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist. Stacy Fox had 13 points, 3 rebounds and 4 steals, Sierra Deppe had 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal, Hannah Smith had 3 points, 1 rebound and 3 steals, Olivia Clarkson had 2 points, and Delanie Diekhoff had 2 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal.
First game of Mid Hoosier Conference tourney is tonight (Thursday) at South. The seventh grade plays Edinburgh and the eighth grade plays Eastern Hancock.
GYBL signups underway
Signups are set for the Greensburg Youth Baseball League. Signups will last through March 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The league will conduct signups on Tuesdays, beginning Feb. 26 through March 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Signups will take place at the Decatur County Parks Department. Registrations are availabe at signup or at the Parks Department.
Columbus Explosion tryouts next week
Columbus Explosion will be having try-outs for girls high school and boys ninth grade basketball travel teams on Tuesday and Thursday, March 5 and 7, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Northside Middle School, Columbus, Ind.
