WASHINGTON (April 3, 2014)—Thursday, Congressman Luke Messer was recognized as an “ACU Conservative” for his achievements in the 2013 American Conservative Union (ACU) Ratings of Congress. The 2013 ratings include scores for each individual member in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. “ACU Conservatives,” are members who score 80 percent or higher.
“I came to Congress to stand up for conservative principles and my voting record reflects that commitment,” said Congressman Messer. “I am proud to be recognized by the American Conservative Union and will continue to champion pro-growth, limited government policies that help ensure we leave this country better than we found it for our kids and grandkids.”
Thursday’s awards were presented in Washington, D.C. by ACU Chairman Al Cardenas and ACU Foundation Chairman Carly Fiorina.
“Conservatives have a responsibility to fight the out-of-control growth of government in Congress. We are proud to honor the fine work of Rep. Messer in that battle,” said Cardenas.
The ACU has become the go-to source for determining whether an elected official’s philosophical rhetoric matches his or her record. The guides provide a comprehensive analysis of the legislative landscape over the preceding year.
