Body found in southwest Henry County identified

Henry County – Around 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, officers were called to the area of Montgomery Creek, just off of Grant City Road, for the report of a deceased male. The body was located by a passerby as they walked along the Grant City Road just south of Grant City in Southwest Henry County.

An autopsy has positively identified the man as Zackery D. Soots, a 23-year-old white male from Indianapolis. The case is now being investigated as a homicide, and investigators are seeking the public’s assistance.

Anyone with any information about Mr. Soots and his last known whereabouts are asked to call Indiana State Police Detective Scott Jarvis at 765-778-2121, or Sergeant Elmer New of the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, or Scott Ullery of the New Castle Police Department at 765-529-4901. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.
