Monday

Decatur County Extension Homemakers will be having a Hoosier Hoedown International Night on Monday, April 14 at the St. Maurice Church Hall. Registration begins at 6 p.m. with a meal at 6:30. Square dancing will follow guest speaker. Prepaid registration of $8 is required by April 4. Please send checks payable to the Decatur County Extension Homemakers, to Janet Bedel at 7875 E. Co. There will be a parent gathering for parents of children/adolescents with serious emotional disorders or behavior problems on March 31 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at CMHC’s Intensive Youth Services’ Office, 215 George Street, Batesville. This would be an opportunity to learn and discuss the various Medicaid programs including eligibility requirements and how Medicaid can benifit children with emotional or behavior problems. The Alzheimer’s Association offers support groups for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Participants in support groups receive emotional support, practical assistance in coping with the issues they face, and the latest information about research. All meetings are confidential and free of charge. The caregiver support group meetings in Greensburg are held on the second Monday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Greensburg Library, 1110 East Main Street. The New Point Community Center will open its doors to walkers who want to escape the harsh winter weather. Walking hours will be from 6-7 p.m. on Monday’s and Thursdays. The public is welcome.

The Mental Health Support Group meets at 7 p.m. the last Monday of each month in the conference room of the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. They invite everyone suffering from mental illness or caring for a family member with mental illness to attend. All meetings are held strictly confidential. Tuesday

New Point Community Senior Club meets every fourth Tuesday at the New Point Community Senior Center at 6 p.m.

Diabetic foot care and ulcer prevention on Tuesday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the DCMH Conference Room. Diabetic foot complications are the most common cause of non-traumatic lower extremity amputations in the industrialized world. Foot complications are also the most frequent reason for hospitalization in patients with diabetes. Dr. Amy Jelinek with Souther Indiana Foot and Ankle Center will present. This program is recommended for anyone who had diabetes, knows someone who has diabetes, or would like to be better informed about diabetic foot care. The Greensburg Library will have Children’s Room Movie Day at 2 p.m. on March 25.

“Companions in Weight Loss” will be meeting every Tuesday at September Place at the Ryle Hall from 4 - 5:30 p.m. Both men and women are welcome. For more information call 591-3790 or 527-8001.

The Greensburg Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. at Trackside Cafe. Guests are always welcome.

Women’s Bible Study will be at the YMCA every Tuesday from 9 - 10 a.m. All ladies of all ages are welcome. For more information please call 812-663-3531.
