Monday

The Alzheimer’s Association offers support groups for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Participants in support groups receive emotional support, practical assistance in coping with the issues they face, and the latest information about research. All meetings are confidential and free of charge. The caregiver support group meetings in Greensburg are held on the 2nd Monday of every month at 4:00 p.m. at the Greensburg Library, 1110 East Main Street. Tae Kwon Do registration is starting October 8 and running through October 29 at the YMCA. This program is for both school aged children and adults. Our instructors will teach students self-defense, personal discipline and core values. Scholarships are available. You can contact Baryy at 663-YMCA for more information.

The Mental Health Support Group meets at 7 p.m. the last Monday of each month in the conference room of the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. They invite everyone suffering from mental illness or caring for a family member with mental illness to attend. All meetings are held strictly confidential. Tuesday

New Point Community Senior Club meets every fourth Tuesday at the New Point Community Senior Center at 6 p.m.

“Companions in Weight Loss” will be meeting every Tuesday at September Place at the Ryle Hall from 4 - 5:30 p.m. Both men and women are welcome. For more information call 591-3790 or 527-8001.

The Greensburg Community High School is hosting the Decatur County College Fair on October 23 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the high school gym. This years the College Fair is a joint effort between Greensburg, North and South Decatur High Schools. all interested students and parents are invited to attend.Representitives will be on hand from over 40 colleges, universities, technical schools and the military. In addition Fifth Third and Irwin Band will each sponsor a $250 textbook reimbursement for college book expenses. Drawings are open to all seiors who attend.

The Greensburg Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. at Trackside Cafe. Guests are always welcome.

The Greensburg Library will have Intermediate Internet class on October 23 at 2 p.m.

Join the High School Concert Band as it kicks off the 2007-’08 year with a Halloween Concert on Tuesday, October 30 at 7 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. The band will be dressed in costume, and the audience is encouraged to do the same, or just come as you are to enjoy the music. After the concert, an opportunity will be provided to trick or treat in various rooms representing different instruments in the band. Please join us for a couple hours of fun, music, and education. All are welcome. The concert and the trick-or-treating are free of charge.

Women’s Bible Study will be at the YMCA every Tuesday from 9 - 10 a.m. All ladies of all ages are welcome. For more information please call 812-663-3531.

Every other Tuesday the Cub Scout Pack led by Becky Ogle meets from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the Baptist Youth Camp.
