Freida B. Cox, 75, of Greensburg, passed away on July 22, 2006 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on August 30, 1930 in Yukon, Oklahoma to Frank Lawson and Lillie Palmer Lawson. She graduated from Burney High School in 1948 and married Clayton Cox on June 16, 1950 in Greensburg and He survives. She was a member of the Burney United Methodist Church, an active member of the church’s Sunday School Program and also a member of the Kitchen Cookies, a home economics club. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper; her last position was at IMC.

She also was a devoted mother and housewife and helped Clayton run the farm.

She is survived by her Husband, Clayton; her Sons, Steve Cox of Columbus, Ind. and Mike (Debbie) Cox of Hope, Ind. and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lillie Lawson and her brothers, Paul Lawson, Eugene Lawson, Lowell Lawson and Howard Lawson.

Visitation services will be held on Monday, July 24 from 4 - 8 p.m. At the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 25 at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Southpark Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Burney United Methodist Church and the American Heart Association.
