The Lone Tree Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) have had a display in the front entrance case of the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library for the recent United States Constitution Week of Sept. 17 to 23. The celebration of the U.S. Constitution was started by the DAR in 1955, with the resolution signed into public law by President Dwight Eisenhower on Aug. 5, 1956. We are encouraged to learn more about this important document and to celebrate the freedoms the Constitution gives us. A DAR display will continue until Oct. 31 at the library and will include Revolutionary War Patriots buried in Decatur County. A listing will be included of the Patriots of our chapter members, plus pictures provided by Betsy Moll of past gatherings. Thanks to Julie Pyland for organizing this display.
