A DIFFERENT WAY TO START LENT

Members of the First Presbyterian Church on the Historic Downtown Square in Greensburg spent the afternoon celebrating Ash Wednesday and sharing the love of Christ. To go along the typical method of marking the beginning of Lent with the imposition of the ashes from last year’s palms, new pastors Garrett and Marena Schindler spent time saying prayers with passersby in cars and giving them a special sticker. Originally from the Catskills in New York, they are used to the recent snow Hoosiers have been enduring. “We love this town,” Pastor Marena said. “There are so many nice restaurants.” The husband and wife team look forward to welcoming new families to the First Presbyterian Church.
