BATESVILLE — North Decatur High School crowned its prom royalty during festivities Saturday evening.

The historic RomWeber Marketplace was transformed into a wonderland of “Rustic Romance” for the Charger prom. Students dressed to the nines danced the night away with friends and made memories they will look back on with fondness for a lifetime.

Toward the end of the night, the Chargers crowned their prom royalty, starting with the prince and princess.

The junior prom court consisted of Carmen Jiminez, Ana Garcia, Kara Muckerheide, Andrew Holloway, Tanner Knecht, Paul Psyk, and Alex Stirn.

Kara Muckerheide was crowned prom princess, with Andrew Holloway taking his place by her side as prince.

Seniors nominated for prom court were Eugena Mack, McKinley Ogden, Justin Allgeier, Michael Schwartz, Janna Peters, Hannah Walterman, Madelyn Day and Gabriel Fedocci.

Maddy Day was crowned prom queen, with Justin Allgeier being named prom king.

As they returned to dancing, the DJ was informed it was Justin’s birthday, and the entire prom stopped to sing him a rousing chorus of “Happy Birthday.”

From shaking the whole floor dancing to “Cotton Eye Joe” to swaying with their partners for the slow dances, all the North Decatur juniors and seniors seemed to have a great night.
