Construction continues on the new water treatment plant on N. Ireland Street in Greensburg. Water Superintendent Rick Denney said the project is on schedule and should be completed on time, in the spring of 2021. He also said water consumption has been down since Gov. Holcomb’s stay at home order. “Honda and KB Foods use right at a million gallons per day, and when they’re shut down consumption goes way down,” said Denney. When the new treatment plant is complete, services will be switched to that new facility. Thirty days later, after “all the bugs have been worked out,” demolition will start at the old facility in preparation for the new Water Treatment Field Office, which will be constructed on the same grounds.
