Daily News readers might remember when the Animal Shelter had to evacuate in late 2019 because of concerns about heavy rains and rising water. Decatur County Animal Control Officer Kevin Springer said Friday that recent rain has not created an emergency yet, but if we get another rain like we had Thursday evening we’ll be worried. The shelter is currently closed, but is available by appointment.
