HMIN produces 2 millionth vehicle

GREENSBURG — Honda Manufacturing of Indiana recently produced their 2 millionth vehicle.

According to HMIN, the 2 millionth vehicle was a crystal black pearl CR-V, and arrived a decade after the start of mass production at Honda’s Greensburg location.

HMIN started mass production in October 2008.

September of this year will also be the 40th anniversary of Honda manufacturing products in North America.

“This accomplishment is due to the commitment our Honda associates in Indiana make every day to build the highest quality products for our customers,” Senior Vice President of HMIN Tim Myers said. “This is an important achievement for our entire team.”

HMIN also manufacture the Honda Civic in Greensburg, as well as being the exclusive global producer for the 2019 Insight Hybrid.

Greensburg-Decatur County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Bryan Robbins lauded HMIN for being an inspiration to the local business community.

“It’s hard for anyone to fathom that,” Robbins said in regards to HMIN’s milestone. “We congratulate them, the corporation, employees and associates. This is a representation of the strong work ethic of our region. Honda is important as an employer and is an inspirational business here right down the road. They will always play a huge role in our community.”

Greensburg Mayor Dan Manus congratulated the company, and indicated he is looking forward to the future.

“We congratulate them on this milestone,” Manus said. “That’s awesome. We look forward to another 2 million.”
