GREENSBURG – First Church of God, 731 N. Ireland Street, will be the host church for All 4 1’s Community Evening of Worship at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. The Illuminate Band will lead worship and First Christian Church in Greensburg Pastor Danny Wolford will present the message, “We are Servants.”

All 4 1 Executive Director Alex Sefton and Capital Campaign Chair Susan Burkhart have been making the contacts necessary to make the funding happen while taking turns on the weekend’s to physically work at the old Schlemmers’ Wholesale storefront, tearing out walls and making the community dream a reality.

“I’m super excited about the potential for churches!” he said. “Obviously, we feel that churches are a valuable asset to our community and we see our space as an extension of theirs. If a small group or Bible study group wants to meet there, do it!”

He envisions the Branch becoming a hub for local churches and their mission work, using Operation Christmas Child as an example.

“We could become a drop-off or we can host a packing event there as well,” he said. “The whole goal of the space is to be common grounds for all churches.”

“The Branch will be a foot in the door to meet in a casual place that is not scary or pressuring to those not yet comfortable with an organized church,” Sefton continued.

“It’s not like we’ll have a baptismal in the back, but it’s a place where you can connect with people that will help you grow in your faith and a place that will love all who enter regardless of what their past says about them.”

A little more than $108,000 has been given or pledged to the Branch Capital Campaign for 2019.
