The Westport Police Department mans a booth at a past Westport Health and Safety Fair. This year’s event will take place on Saturday at the Westport Community Building.

On Saturday, the Westport Community Building will be host to the third annual Westport Clinic Health and Safety Fair.

Beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until 1 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to receive health screenings, safety information and door prizes. In addition, seasonal flu vaccines will be given free to the first 100 people (18 years of age or older).

The event is a cooperative effort between the Westport Clinic and The Independent Westport Area Business Association.

Throughout the fair, free car seat checks will be provided. Those interested in this service should bring their child and look for signs by the shelter house in order to line-up cars for the checks.

Area emergency services vehicles and personnel will be on hand throughout the day to display their services and answer questions from interested area residents. Various booths and giveaways from local merchants will also be at the ready.

Blood donations will be another aspect of the event, and those interested can schedule an appointment by calling Bobbi at (812) 663-1167.
