Indian Creek came to South Decatur’s Seibel Field Thursday night and exploded for nine runs in the fourth inning to take home a 14-3 Mid-Hoosier Conference victory.

Before the nine-run outburst, the Cougars had built a 3-0 lead when Ryan Mote singled and was forced home when Wyatt Friersdorf walked with one-out in the first inning. A 1-2-3 double play ended the Cougar rally.

In the third they stretched the lead to 3-0 when Lincoln Hacker and Derec Hudson were on base with errors and Friersdorf delivered them with a single.

In the fourth inning the Braves collected five singles, a walk, an error, a double and a bases-clearing home run from Phelps to cap the inning.

They added three more runs in the fifth and two in the sixth for the final margin of 14-3. When Josh England’s single was all that the Cougars could collect in the bottom of the sixth, Indian Creek claimed the victory under the 10-run rule.
