Below are the Decatur County sports digest announcements for Sept. 13.

Junior High Charger Harriers Set Best Times

The North Decatur junior high girls and boys x country team competed Saturday in the Rushville Invitational featuring 10 teams. While no individual or team awards were won by the Chargers, all of the kids set personal best times for the season.

Girls- Alexis Brandenburg 17:18; Emily Dougherty 17:18; Brook Moore 16:58; Lauryn Wysong 22:15; Lily Meyer 18:59.

Boys- Zach Johnson 13:38; Logan Kramer 14:59; Noah Mack 16:02.

Pirate Tennis Match Moved to Sept. 19

The Greensburg boys tennis match against Franklin County, originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 8, has been postponed until Monday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m. at Greensburg.

Lady Charger Fall Hoops Camp Set

North Decatur girls basketball will host a fall basketball camp on Sept. 22, 24, 29, and Oct. 1, 4, and 8.

This camp is for girls in grades three through six. On weekdays, camp will run from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the high school. The Saturday dates are reserved for game play from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the high school. Pirate Wrestling Golf Scramble Oct. 1

The Greensburg wrestling team will be hosting a golf scramble at 8 a.m. on Oct. 1 at North Branch. This tournament is open to the public. Competitions will include two "Closest to the Pin" and "Longest Drive" contests. The cost is $45 per golfer (includes lunch). We are also seeking hole sponsorships. Hole sponsorships cost $50 per hole, which will include a sign with your name/company name and a slogan for one hole. Or, a hole can be sponsored for $100, which will include a sign with your name/company name and a slogan for one hole and also list your name on the team apparel for the 2011-2012 season. Donations are also welcome. All proceeds will offset costs of the wrestling program, such as team camps and club expenses. Pirate JV Gridders Top Tigers 20-8

The Greensburg junior varsity football team defeated Lawrenceburg 20-8 Monday night.

The Pirates dominated on defense the entire game and did just enough offensively to secure the win.

The defense shut down Lawrenceburg with Jack Eberhardt's two interceptions and Shane Ploeger's 55-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Kyle Hammond scored a touchdown for the Pirates, and Ploeger tallied a touchdown reception. Colten Black added a two-point conversion.

Pirate Eighth Gridders Host Braves

The Greensburg eighth grade football team hosted Indian Creek Thursday and lost 36-16. Drew Foster led the offense with a touchdown pass and converting a pair of 2-point conversions. Jerrid Wright added to the Pirate rushing attack with a touchdown run. Through the air, Alex Martinez had a touchdown reception, and Alex Pokrzywynzki had 54 yards receiving.

Spencer Rueff and Foster led the defense in tackles.

Greensburg is 1-2 on the season and will play at North Decatur, Tuesday at 5:30.
