Softball sign-up

The Decatur County Girls Softball Association is taking registrations for slow pitch and fast pitch softball.

Interested girls can sign-up every Saturday through April 4.

Registration is from 9 a.m. to Noon at the Armory (Park & Rec building).

Greensburg baseball

Registration for Greensburg Youth Baseball continues to go on at the park and rec offices.

Tourney slated

The Bob Cene Baseball Complex in Struthers, Ohio will host a wood bat tournament for teams ages 16 through 18 from the Midwest June 25-28. Contact Ken Quinn at 330-719-0581 for information.

Co-ed softball

The Greensburg Slowpitch Softball Association announces that registration is underway for the co-ed softball league. Rosters and the team entry fee of $375 are due in the Parks and Recreation Department office no later than 4 p.m. Friday, May 1. Late registrations will be accepted until May 8 for a fee of $400. Games will be played on Fridays beginning on May 9. The entry fee will include 9 league games and a single elimination tourney. Awards will be given only for the tourney.

County baseball

The registration period for Decatur County Youth Baseball has started. Registration forms have been given to students at North and South Decatur Elementary Schools. Forms are also available at the office at St. Mary’s School and at North and South Decatur High Schools.

The fee is $20 per player.

Girls on the Run 5k

Area residents have been invited  invitation to join in the festivities at the Girls on the Run 5k event on May 9th at Liberty Park in Batesville. Between 500-600 participants, spectators and volunteers are expected to be on hand.
