The Greensburg varsity boys soccer team fell to Rushville 2-1 Saturday.
Greensburg scored the first goal on a corner kick by Daniel Fayette at the 33:56 mark in the first period.
Greensburg took 15 shots on goal to Rushville's five during the first period.
According to head coach Rick Fayette, Greensburg controlled the midfield during most of the first half, allowing many scoring opportunities.
Greensburg held on to the lead for most of the second period. After playing very well in the midfield and on defense for 75 minutes, noted Fayette, Greensburg's midfield and defense allowed Rushville several scoring opportunities late in the match. The Lions capitalized, scoring two goals in the last seven minutes of the match to win the game.

The next game is Tuesday (tonight) at Batesville. There will be a JV game following the varsity match.
