GREENSBURG - The Historical Society of Decatur County will present the Mossburg Strings in concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church as part of the 5th Sunday Musical series.

The Mossburg Strings, comprised of five of the nine children in the Mossburg Family, will present a varied concert of classical, country, fiddle and Christian music.

Caleb, 17, Aaron, 16, Rachel, 14, Jacob, 13, and Jared, 11, give approximately 250 concerts each year. Memorable programs by the family include Gov. Mitch Daniel’s inauguration gala and open house and many statewide conferences. They have received many local and state awards. The Mossburgs have appeared locally to rave reviews at Kingston Church and for a previous season of the 5th Sunday Musical series.

"We are so lucky to once again welcome the Mossburg Family to Greensburg," said Reed Schuster, 5th Sunday Musical chair. "They are amazing musicians and delightful young people."

There is no charge for the concert, but an appreciation collection will be taken. After the concert, audience members are invited to meet the performers and enjoy light refreshments.

The Mossburg Family Strings concert is the second of this year’s Fifth Sunday Musicals sponsored by the Historical Society. The third and final program will be presented on September 30 by the Greensburg Junior High Musical Ensemble under the direction of Nick Parcell.
