Urban F. Blankman, 78 of Greensburg, Indiana passed away on August 6, 2006 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana.

He was born on March 1, 1928 in Millhousen, Indiana and was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Naderman) Blankman.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Agnes Hartman on July 22, 1953 in Oldenburg, Indiana and she preceded him in death in October 1993. He was a floor covering specialist, a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he served as an Usher for 40 years and a member of the Knights of St. John’s in Millhousen.

He is survived by three Sons, Gerald (Anita) Blankman of Westport, Alvin Blankman of Batesville and Keith (Jazmin) Blankman of Lawrenceburg; seven Daughters, Patricia (Glenn) Gosnell of Vevay, Anita (Dale) Oliver of Batesville, Karen Dwiggens of St. Paul, Shirley (Tim) Wamsley of Westport, Joann Sexton of Greensburg, Wanda (John) Ploeger of Greensburg and Laura (Freddy) Argotte of Lebanon; 18 Grandchildren and four Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Blankman; his Wife, Agnes Blankman; two Brothers, Joseph and Alfred Blankman; one Sister, Mary Scheidler and one Son-in-law, Michael Sexton.

Friends may call the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 9 from 2-8 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 10 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Msgr. harold Knueven officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
